Parizad Bilimoria, PhD
Communications and Outreach Director, Conte Center
Parizad manages the communications and outreach efforts of the Conte Center. Her communications work involves creating and developing content for the Center website, blog, and other affiliated sites, working with investigators on collaborative proposals, progress reports, and related writing projects, and serving as a liaison between the Center and the various Harvard departments, programs, and organizations it collaborates with. The outreach efforts, aimed both at the larger Harvard community and the general public, have just begun and involve a variety of talks and training events in the neurosciences and mental health, as well as support of summer undergraduate research and building a sense of community within the Center itself.
Parizad graduated in 2010 from the Program in Neuroscience at Harvard Medical School. Her dissertation focused on signaling pathways that orchestrate the morphological development of neurons in the cerebellum. She became interested in science communications through an internship at the Office of Communications and External Relations at Harvard Medical School and has since worked as a science writer for Children’s Hospital Boston and a medical writer for ETHOS Health Communications. She holds a B.S./M.S. in neuroscience and a minor in creative writing from Brandeis University.
